PLEASE BE ADVISED:

Motions will be heard Monday through Thursday, at 8:30 A.M. and Must Comply With All Local Rules Including LR 5.2(f) Dealing With Courtesy Copies To Chambers
Effective 10/24/16, absent order of the court, oral argument on motions will generally be limited to 15 minutes per side with 5 minutes for rebuttal if necessary
DELIVERY OF COURTESY COPIES PURSUANT TO LOCAL RULE 5.2(f) :
Despite repeated reminders from virtually all the judges in this district that counsel is required to provide a "stapled and/or bound" paper copy of all electronically filed documents (including the complaint) within one business day of its filing, those reminders have been of limited success in attaining compliance with LR 5.2(f).
In fact, a number of the district judges have embraced a policy of fining lawyers who do not comply with the Rule. The most recent example of the judges' concern with the problem is the order of Judge Gottschall appearing on her web page. It reads: "Parties who refuse to follow LR 5.2(f) (1) impermissibly shift the cost of litigation onto the court by forcing the court to print documents that should have been provided, (2) waste the court’s scarce judicial resources by necessitating multiple follow-up phone calls, and (3) inconvenience the parties when the court is unaware of a filing that needs attention. Therefore, effective immediately, any noncompliance with LR 5.2(f) will result in the imposition of a $200.00 fine payable to the Clerk of the Court...."As Judge Gottschall noted, "[t]his policy has been adopted by other judges in this district—see, e.g., Appendix to the July 21, 2009 opinion in Cooley v. Board of Education, 09 C 2109, ECF No. 22, and is now adopted by this chambers."
All parties shall deliver a courtesy copy of all pleadings, motions, supporting memoranda and other filings to Room 1010 (courtroom deputy's office) pursuant to Local Rule 5.2(f).
All filings must comply with Local Rule 5.2(d). Failure to timely provide a courtesy copy with exhibits separated by protruding tabs will result in the motion being stricken and will necessitate a refiling of the motion. (See Local Rule 5.2(e))
Counsel are expected to be familiar with and abide by the Standards for Professional Conduct which have been adopted by the Seventh Circuit.
