IMPORTANT
All parties are directed to
read the Court’s Ninth Amended General Order 20-0012, dated January 12, 2021,
available on the Northern District of Illinois homepage.
If a party is seeking relief
from the Court, a motion must be filed. Pursuant to the Ninth Amended General
Order, a notice of motion for presentment should not be filed. The Judge
will notify parties of the need, if any, for a hearing by electronic means or
in-court proceeding. For emergency motions, please refer to Judge Rowland’s
standing order on Emergency Motions.
Courtroom Deputy Dawn Moreno
will not be returning phone calls immediately. If you need to reach her about a
routine matter, an emergency matter as described in Judge Rowland’s standing
order on Emergency Motions, or you were previously ordered by the Court to
contact the courtroom deputy, the best way is to send Dawn an email at dawn_moreno@ilnd.uscourts.gov.
The email should provide the case number in the subject line and contain a
detailed message. Parties must “CC” counsel for all parties on the email.
Filings:
All electronic filings must be generated from the original word file to a PDF document so that the text is searchable. PDF images created by scanning paper documents may be used only for exhibit or reference materials not available in PDF format.
Courtesy Copies:
Courtesy copies are required only for: (1) any filing that totals 50 or more pages (including exhibits); (2) any motion for summary judgment (including all related briefs and exhibits); and (3) motions for temporary restraining order. Courtesy copies should be bound and tabbed as stated in Local Rule 5.2(d). Courtesy copies should be printed on both sides of the paper whenever possible. The printed CM/ECF header must be at the top of every page. Courtesy copies should be delivered to Judge Rowland’s courtroom deputy’s office (Rm. 1226) within one business day of filing, by 5:00pm. They need not be delivered in an envelope unless the filing contains under-seal material.
