NEW: Motions Policy
Judge Shah hears motions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; Civil Case motions are heard at 9:45 a.m., Criminal Case motions are heard at 10:15 a.m. All motions must be noticed for presentment no later than three business days before the hearing.
Parties should expect to appear in person unless the court advises otherwise. Any request to appear by telephone must be made to susan_mcclintic@ilnd.uscourts.gov no later than 24 hours prior to the motion hearing.
Motions that are agreed or unopposed must include “agreed” or “unopposed” in the title of the motion.
Courtesy Copies Policy
Judge Shah does NOT accept courtesy copies of court filings, except for in camera documents and any exhibit that consists of an audio and/or video file. In which instance, only the exhibit is necessary.
CRIMINAL CASES: COUNSEL APPOINTED UNDER THE CJA must provide paper courtesy copies of any ex parte sealed motions to Susan McClintic in Room 1914 no later than 24 hours after filing such motions.

The success of this court's trial procedures depends on your willingness to familiarize yourself with these materials and to act accordingly.
