About Media Accounts

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois offers official members of media outlets the opportunity to sign up for an account to receive e-mail notifications when an entry is made in the Court's Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF). You must be currently employed by a news publication OR you must be currently employed by a recognized network, cable, or independent news organization. You may be required to submit credential information to support your qualifications. Only email addresses issued by news organizations will be accepted.

Once you receive your ECF account credentials, please use the Media ECF Account Getting Started guide to link your PACER account and set up a list of cases for which you want to receive e-mail notices. Should you wish to open the document linked in the e-mail, users will be billed pursuant to the PACER guidelines. The fee guidelines may be found here.
