District Court Fund Administration for Recruited Counsel in a Civil Case
-
In order to facilitate the prudent administration of the District Court Fund:
- When a trial bar attorney has been assigned to represent an indigent party in a civil proceeding before this Court under LR83.36, that attorney shall be allowed to petition the Court for the prepayment or reimbursement of expense incurred in the preparation and presentation of the proceeding as set forth in these regulations. See D.C.F. Reg. 1.
-
That attorney must comply with the District Court Fund Regulations Governing the Prepayment and Reimbursement of Expenses in Pro Bono Cases (“District Court Fund Regulations”). The regulations are accessible at
www.ilnd.uscourts.gov under the “Attorney” tab, then under the “Pro Bono Resources for Trial Bar Attorneys” drop down option, and then under “Pro Bono Rules and Forms.”
- Failure to comply with the District Court Fund Regulations may result in the denial of request for reimbursement.
