The amendment to adding section D provides for a separate file and docket for proceedings arising out of motions filed pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2255. While these proceedings are part of the underlying criminal proceedings, keeping track of them and the underlying documents can become problematic in the larger multi-defendant cases. This procedure would, in effect, keep a separate file and docket for each § 2255 motion.
