Emergency Judges And Matters Relating To The Emergency Judges

Rule 1.23 Temporary Absence Of The Assigned Judge

Any judge who plans to be absent from Court on a regular business day, during the regular sessions of the Court, should arrange for a judge other than the emergency judge to hear matters arising from cases on his/her calendar. Where such arrangements are made, the judge should instruct the minute clerk to inform the Law Bulletin, so that the designation can be published in that periodical. A copy of the notice for the Law Bulletin should be given to the Clerk so that inquiries directed to the Clerk's Office can be answered. The minute clerk should also post a notice on the door to the courtroom indicating the name of the judge who will hear matters and the room number of that judge's courtroom.
