Motion Practice

  • Judge Gettleman hears motions at 9:15 a.m on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • A courtesy copy of motions and all related papers must be dropped off in Chambers 1788 or Room 1704 and served by 4:30 p.m. at least three working days prior to the date of the hearing of the motion.
  • Unless the court has told a party it need not appear, counsel is expected to be present whether or not the motion is agreed. Counsel should call (312) 435-5544 after 3:00 p.m. on the day prior to the date set for the motion to see if appearance is necessary.
  • Parties must comply with Judge Gettleman’s Standing Order.
  • Please read Judge Gettleman’s Standing Order carefully and note that it differs in some respects from the Local Rules. To the extent that it does, follow the Standing Order.
