Motion Practice

All motions, civil and criminal, are to be noticed for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Judge Kennelly requires all motions to be served electronically at least three business days before the date the motion is to be heard.

Joint, uncontested, and agreed motions should be so identified in the title and body of the motion.

Chambers / courtesy copies of electronically-filed documents are required for the initial complaint (irrespective of the number of pages) and for any other documents (including exhibits but not including notices of filing or certificates of service).  This copy should be delivered either to Judge Kennelly's chambers (Room 2188) or to the lobby drop-box.

If a party is submitting a document of more than 50 pages, Judge Kennelly prefers that the judge's copy be spiral bound on the side.
