Amendment to Local Rule 3.2 Notification as to Affiliates
Effective December 1, 2006

CHICAGO –The Judicial Conference of the United States, which is chaired by Chief Justice Roberts, has mandated that by January 31, 2007, each Circuit Council of the 12 United States Circuit Courts is required to report to the Judicial Conference on the status of implementing an Automated Conflict Screening program. To comply with this mandate, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has amended its Local Rule 3.2, effective December 1, 2006. The amendment to Local Rule 3.2 will be published for comment. However, the rule as published for comment will be effective prior to the end of the comment period. The purpose of the amendment to the Rule 3.2 is to instruct the parties to litigation in the Court that they must file a list of any affiliates to help the Court screen for any potential conflicts.

The proposed amendment to Local Rule 3.2 can be found on the Court’s website, www.ilnd.uscourts.gov.
