CIVIL FILING FEE TO INCREASE

CHICAGO – The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, signed into law by President George W. Bush on February 8, 2006, includes a provision increasing the civil filing fee by $100, to $350.

The increase becomes effective April 9, 2006, 60 days from the date the bill was signed into law.

A complete fee schedule, effective April 9, 2006, for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, is attached.
