Standing Order for Initial Status Hearing
Upon assignment of cases by consent or referral to Magistrate Judge Gilbert, an initial status hearing will be set by minute order. See the Court’s Standing Order for Initial Status Report
for the information to be included in the parties’ written joint
initial status report, not to exceed five (5) pages. The initial status report must be filed three (3) business days
before the initial status hearing.
The Court will set discovery schedules, briefing schedules, and other deadlines and timetables at the initial status hearing as appropriate for each case. Accordingly, the lead trial counsel for each party, or an attorney with substantial familiarity and responsibility for the case, shall appear at the initial status hearing and be prepared to discuss all aspects of the case.
