It is the desire of the court to provide all parties with
an opportunity for resolution of their dispute which would occur potentially early
in the litigation process in order to keep transactional costs at a reasonable level.
Please familiarize yourself with the new rules and the new Case Management Order,
available on this web site and in the Clerk's Office. At all initial pretrial conferences
conducted after January 3, 2003, be prepared to discuss with Judge Reinhard or Magistrate
Judge Mahoney the issue of mediation. We expect this to be a valuable service for

Case Management Order
- The new Case Management Order has a specific section which deals with mediation,
including the requirement that counsels certify that their clients have read the
pamphlet on mediation. It will be incumbent upon litigants to complete the section
of the Case Management Order which deals with the mediation program.
