CM/ECF Application

Description:

This training program covers the basics of e-filing in the district court. Designed for both attorneys and support staff, the program reviews how to access and navigate in the e-filing system. Using demonstrations and practice sessions, the program will teach participants how to file an appearance, answer, amended complaint, motion, notice of motion, and briefs. Additional topics covered include adding party names and e-filing account maintenance. There is no fee for these training classes. Classes last approximately 2 1/2 hours, and are offered in Room 2344 in the Dirksen Courthouse, 219 South Dearborn, Chicago.

Prerequisites:

Prior to attending this class, the participant must have a basic knowledge of windows and how to use a mouse to complete such tasks as making a selection from a menu, selecting a file name, and moving between different directories.

Objectives:

By the end of this course, the participant will be able to complete most types of e-filing in the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Materials:

All necessary training materials will be provided by the Court.
