Initial Status Hearing

Upon assignment of cases by consent or referral to Magistrate Judge Daniel G. Martin, an initial status hearing will generally be set by minute order except in cases referred solely for a settlement conference and Social Security cases. Please comply with the Order Setting Initial Status Report for Cases Assigned to Judge Martin.

Consistent with the scope of the referral, the Court may set discovery schedules, briefing schedules, and other deadlines. Accordingly, lead trial counsel for each party, or an attorney with substantial familiarity with and responsibility for the case, shall appear at the initial status hearing and be prepared to discuss all aspects of the case.
