Temporary Restraining Orders
|
Any motion for a temporary restraining order should be filed with the court in the manner prescribed in the Motion Practice section of this web page. In addition, the party filing a motion for a temporary restraining order should notify Judge Kapala’s deputy clerk, Susan Bennehoff, of the motion and arrange for a presentment date and time with her.
A party filing a motion for a temporary restraining order must submit an electronic copy of its proposed temporary restraining order to the court at the time it files its motion with the clerk. Proposed temporary restraining orders must be attached to an e-mail sent to the e-mail address of susan_bennehoff@ilnd.uscourts.gov. The subject line of the e-mail must include the case number and name, the docket number of the corresponding motion, if any, and the title of the order. All such documents must be in a format compatible with WordPerfect , which is a “Save As” option in most word processing software. Such proposed orders should also be served on all parties, but may be filed with the motion, and served as part of the motion.
