With a few exceptions, all our courtrooms (in Rockford and here in Chicago) have
assisted listening stethoscope type headsets for the hearing impaired.

They are
extremely lightweight with excellent sound quality with selectable right, left or
stereo sound. They also have a volume gain control knob for the wearers comfort
level. Jurors and visitors need only to ask the courtroom clerk for obtaining one
while in the courtroom. Sound is picked up from a transmitter up in the front of
the courtroom near the ceiling. The unit is worn so the "clear" bubble receiver
(or the name on the other model) faces away from the wearers body.
